At Houston Federal Credit Union, we know that you are constantly being reminded about the COVID-19 pandemic through the news and everyone around you. And although the pandemic has temporarily changed our world and our normal routine in just about everything that we do, the purpose of this message is to remind our members and everyone else to stay positive, keep looking towards tomorrow and know that we are here for you. It can be very challenging to change your daily routines, and not being able to visit family and friends as often as we would like. For some the impact may be mild and others slightly more frustrating with the many changes that we are facing today, but it’s important to find ways to stay positive, productive, and to remind yourself and others that we are all in this together and we will get through this.
First, it’s important to know that we can get through this while helping each other stay safe, and we can use this time to our advantage to stay positive while keeping tight bonds with our family and friends, and by practicing social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19. Keeping an optimistic perspective during this difficult time is very important for you and everyone around you.
Here are some helpful tips to stay positive during social distancing:
Allow yourself to smile
Humor is a good way to cope through times of trouble and can be very healthy. You can use all this extra time with your family, children and loved ones to bond and have quality time together at home. You can use this time together to create wonderful memories, such as watching movies together, enjoying crafts, telling each other funny stories, and making the best out of this difficult time.
This tip can seem challenging, but you can think of it as choosing what to focus on. Use this time to focus on your goals as well as engaging in home activities such as, deep cleaning, organizing, and working on productive things that make you feel good.
Enjoy your family and friends virtually
As government officials advise social distancing, you can stay connected while keeping each other safe. It important to know that you don’t have to give up socializing with family and friends just do it from the comfort of your home. You can check on them daily through video chat, over the phone, play virtual games online, fun activities and enjoy a tour of a National Park or Museum.
While we face these difficult times, we are choosing to stay positive while we work hard to make sure your financial needs are met. At Houston Federal Credit Union, we are here for our members and know that we can get through this together.
